Heart and Soul

Kodak - Pamela Young (The Heart and Soul of Rochester)This week I traveled to Rochester, NY to make my first trip to Kodak headquarters. Upon entering the historic Kodak building in downtown Rochester I was greeted by the nicest and friendliest person I met on my entire trip. I met Pamela Young! --- Note the exclamation point. Pamela exudes and exemplifies the exclamation Kodak - Pamela Young - Nameplate (The Heart and Soul of Rochester)point with her outgoing and easy nature. She says she “earned” the exclamation point and I believe her. She sure made me feel welcomed and made my trip to Rochester memorable.

What’s in a Job Title?

I found out that Pamela has one of the coolest titles I’ve heard in a long time. She is the Director of First Impressions and she truly is the first person you will meet when you visit Kodak’s HQ offices in Rochester.

Who is your Director of First Impressions?

Who is the Heart and Soul of your company?

Hopefully, you have at least one. 100_1027Hopefully, you recognize and reward them too.

Pamela thanks for making my first visit to Kodak HQ in Rochester so memorable. I hope to see you every time I visit.

Great post, Jeff. That really has me thinking about who that is or has been (for good and bad reasons) for several companies I know. Also gets me thinking about who we think that person is from the inside vs. what a customer thinks from the outside.
