How do you know when you are an entrepreneur

At the Microsoft Startup Weekend I was fortunate to hear Dan McComb of BizNik speak about SHINE and Entrepreneurship. imageHe only spoke for a few minutes and showed a few clips of the upcoming film SHINE and in those few minutes he captured the essence of the What, Why, and How people become (and stay) entrepreneurs.

image One of the stats Dan quoted was that 4 out of 5 businesses in the US involve ONLY 1 person.

With SHINE they are looking to capture the entrepreneurial spirit across many segments of the “entrepreneurial community.”

Look for SHINE - Due to be released Fall of 2009

SHINE has a
goal of:

Documenting the path

… which in reality is a journey …

to becoming an entrepreneur

Thanks to Microsoft BizSpark team and the Startup Weekend team

There are too many people to list here, but a few of the people that made the Microsoft Startup weekend work so well are Clint Nelson, Julien and Jacob who manage the @BizSpark account on Twitter, and Brian Gorbett (the roving CTO).

If you have seen Dan speak, have heard about SHINE and/or attended the Microsoft Startup weekend please share your thoughts here in the comments.
