I started this post thinking about the idea of a Basic Income.
A Basic Income was proposed by Thomas Paine over 200 years ago.
A “basic income” is an income unconditionally granted to all on an individual basis, without any means test or requirement to work.
Another term for Basic Income is Guaranteed Minimum Income (GMI) (also called minimum income) and it is a system of social welfare.
I spoke about this on my radio segment with Michele Price yesterday. I will update this post with links shortly. But, before that ... consider this:
What about a Maximum Wage?
As Jesse Ventura, former governor of Minnesota and former professional wrestler, suggests in this video.
Call him crazy ... as many already have, but he just may be onto something.
Is Capitalism Dead?
No! However, capitalism may need to divert from it's literal meaning and starting giving back. Is this an anathema to the concept of capitalism? Yes. But, that doesn't mean it cannot be changed.
Perhaps it's time for a change?
What do you think?
