Business Critical SharePoint–Creating Tomorrow’s Solutions Today

In case you haven’t heard … SharePoint is Ubiquitous

This week in the Mojave desert --- 10,000+ people are gathering in Las Vegas for the 2012 SharePoint Conference. This is where Microsoft fetes the SharePoint Customers and Partners with deep dives into Business and Technical sessions for Line-of-Business experts, IT Pros and Developers. It’s a chance for Microsoft to show what’s coming. It’s also a chance for Customers and Partners to get together and SHOW Microsoft what they’ve been doing. Many of the sessions are led by Microsoft MVP’s and other speakers from industry.

Microsoft has been Making the Right Bets

Microsoft announced the Business Critical SharePoint (BCSP) program a few months ago. My company, Winshuttle, is one of the first members. We see BCSP as being a critical component to driving the next wave of SharePoint adoption. One where adoption is driven as much by end users selecting the tools to get their jobs done as by business and IT leaders identifying, approving and perhaps building apps that help people accomplish the tasks they need to have completed.

Attending the SharePoint Conference?

There is a BCSP session at SharePoint Conference on Monday, November 12th at 11am in the South Pacific Ballroom E. The session title is "Business-Critical SharePoint: Driving business value with SharePoint and your LOB systems" and the session number is 264. Gideon Bibliowicz and Aklak Choudhury will be leading the session. You wont want to miss this session.

Serving A Larger Purpose

imageAlthough the conference is focused on Microsoft SharePoint there are several new products and technologies coming from Microsoft that when combined make the sum of the parts into a much greater whole solution. For example,

Where Windows 8 empowers developers to create some really interesting solutions using the new LIVE TILES metaphor.

The SharePoint Conference is the place to dream BIG. Microsoft is encouraging and enabling the community to get together. And the community responds by showing up in droves and by sharing what they know. The combination of consumers and partners is creating a multi-billion dollar opportunity that will lead to the creation of solutions that leverage and extend the SharePoint platform … and it's one that will be around for many years.

What will you build?

Come to the SharePoint Conference this week in Las Vegas to see a lot of SI’s ISV’s and other Microsoft SharePoint partners showing their wares and highlighting how the Future of SharePoint is very rich and vibrant.

I will be in the Winshuttle booth – booth #837 --- If you want see what my company is doing to help get data into SharePoint from Big Data silos - notably SAP and Oracle please stop by for a demo or a chat or both.
