As I have mentioned at least 1000 times to people over the years …

Diversity and The 2nd Best Thing
The willingness of Microsoft to open up to the community with a deep set of experts willing to share their expertise is unprecedented. At least as far as I know.
Thank you and kudos to Microsoft for making one of the best things of working for Microsoft be a semi-publicly available resource.
I hope more tech companies follow your lead.
Why Now?
As noted in the CMP Blog Post there is goal of helping those that are junior in their career. I also see this as a great outreach for diversity. There is a significant need across tech companies and every other industry to encourage mentoring. Not just for diversity, but also to encourage women and young girls to consider careers in the sciences.
We need more STEMWIT’s … as noted in Encourage a STEMWIT near you.
If you know someone that could benefit from Mentoring
Share this post … encourage them to sign up.
Why only 2nd best?
In case you are wondering about the 1st best thing … take a look at my post on The Three Best Things of Working for Microsoft.
Hint: Think Reading, Research and Re-Invention
And, for the 3rd best thing … it’s subject to your own preferences, but I have mine. Hint: It’s very chocolatey
